Description
This is my commission for ~LadyD666. She requested Arthas from the Warcraft universe and gave me free reign as to which version of him I submitted. Since I couldn't decide, this is the result.
The Arthas on the left is "pre-Frostmourne", and on the right is "Death Knight" Arthas. Yeah. Long story behind this, and if you're unfamiliar with it I HIGHLY suggest playing Warcraft III. Like, now... GO!
When *messa plugged me for my background work, this was the picture she was talking about. I felt really bad because most of my gallery is kinda... background free. So yeah... THIS IS IT!! Yes those backgrounds are from scratch and kicked my butt, but I'm proud of them. I need to do more background work anyway.
Some technical notes:
-Arthas' paladin armor is really hard to find references of, so I used the wonderfully talented *pulyx's version of it for mine.
-There are several different versions of Arthas' Death Knight armor, so I used the version that appears in "The Art of Warcraft" book *stares at it lovingly*
-Textures on the sword were just random from a google search... sorry that I don't have links to plug. They've been on my hard drive for a while.
-Yes, I'm aware that Arthas' eyes have always been green.... I dunno why I made them blue on the left (maybe cause of all the other blue in the picture) but my sorry! *sniff*
-Tried my hand at coloring textures, especially in the different metals. Steel on the left, iron on the right. I think I did a good job... I think...
-Chain mail is fun.

EDIT: Feb. 12, 2011; I want to sell prints of this at coming conventions, so I decided I needed to go back and change the size of Arthas' head since it was SO HUGE!!! Fat head... lol

Bought a print of this at Geek.kon this year. First piece of art I've bought at a convention...ever...and I've been going to cons for decades.
